Our Group
OAO Gazprom is an open joint stock company. It was established in 1992 as a successor company to the state run gas company Gazprom. Its business is the exploration and development of natural gas fields, extraction, processing, transportation, underground storage and refining of natural gas. It also supplied gas, gas condensate, oil and processed products to domestic and foreign customers.
The Russian state owns just over 50% of the shares; some 7.5% are foreign owned and the remainder are held by Russian citizens and enterprises. An overview of the Gazprom Group is shown below:
