Gazprom Global Energy Solutions (GGES) is one of a few major participants globally offering a completely managed end to end Automated Meter Reading (AMR) service using its own technology and integrated service solutions. Built on top of this fundamental smart/advanced metering platform are a whole host of related services.
GGES, formerly Truread, was founded in 2005 and has been successful due to vast knowledge and expertise in both the Utilities sector and IT systems development sector.
When the company was founded the sole focus was on providing a managed data service through AMR. The commitment from the outset was to provide more for less, i.e. more accurate and timely readings with less cost and process conflicts.
In June 2010 GGES was formed as a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T) which is the international trading arm of Gazprom OAO, the World's largest natural gas producer. As GM&T supply gas to many of the UK Energy Suppliers, it could also see the synergy in assisting suppliers and consumers control their energy usage more accurately and efficiently.
