Our customer, Land Securities approached us recently and asked to replace the existing 28 Electricity sub-meters at these premises with modern MID Approved GSM Meters. The existing meters were relatively modern, but there was no space to fit replacement GSM Meters in the Electrical Risers on each floor. The only alternative was to look at using the existing meters' pulse outputs and come up with a suitable method of publishing the metered data from each on our Gazprom Managed Web Portal.
The problem was easily solved by using Gazprom's Low Power Radio Solution (LPR).
Installation was very simple, our technicians fitted compact Merlin LPR Pulse Transmitters to each meter and data was collected and transmitted at 5 minutes intervals to a local GPRS Data Hub.
The system has been working efficiently for some months and the customer has benefitted from lower installation and data costs (typically 50% less). An added bonus for Land Securities was that no power off was needed during installation, thus minimising inconvenience to the building occupiers.
As a result of this success, we have recently completed a further 2 LPR Installations in other Customer Premises in the London Area and will be looking to make this innovative technology a permanent fixture in our metering installation portfolio.

STC Energy and GGES have worked together for many years. We have completed projects including Gas and Water logging devices and more recently have been working on GGES's Low Power Radio Solution.
STC have found GGES to have an extremely innovative approach and have a very comprehensive suite of products that enable them to handle the operational delivery of any AMR project.
GGES have the ability to perform a fully delivered installation process and employ the highest calibre of staff that are able to overcome any obstacles that may not have been accounted for once they are on site.
GGES managed to provide a solution to a problem we had where other companies could not. By taking time to understand our needs and working in partnership we are now able to monitor energy usage on a live basis allowing us to reduce and control fixed costs. We are also able to use the raw data and graphical information for other aspects of production profiling and problem solving
Siemens and GGES have now worked together on a number of significant AMR projects. During this time GGES have proved to be a collaborative and reliable partner, always ready to go the extra mile to accommodate the customer's requirements with innovative and cost effective solutions.
